A lot of people lost their jobs due to this COVID-19 pandemic and one most affected industries has been live music entertainment. A number of DJs / artists lost their tours and gigs because of the pandemic and some DJs / artists even lost their entire career and business which took them years to build.
We had a little chat with R-CUE who is on the most heavily touring and well known urban artist from Melbourne, Australia.
“I began this year with a big tour in 8 different countries including some of the DJ Mag Top 100 clubs, however Part 2 of the tour got cancelled due to the pandemic. Initially I was really disappointed, however, while being stuck at home you have more time to think about things and generate new ideas. I have invested a large amount of time during lockdown into music production and marketing. I did not have as much time previous for these so the pandemic situation has provided me with a really good opportunity to get on top of these areas. Now I cannot wait for clubs to reopen so I can play my own tracks during my sets. It is going to be a fantastic feeling and something that money cannot buy! “
Even tho this tough time not only Most of artists/ djs got spend more with their family / loved ones, they also got time to think and working on something they always wanted do.
R-CUE also added
“I released my debut single mid 2018 and after that i only released 2 more single for 18 months. 2020 i have already released 4 single and at least 4 more ready to be released.Last few years I have done many gigs as a dj in many countries but this year I have done so much productions. I would say this is one of the best year as an artist”
