If you still didn’t get it: This is a fake interview written purely based on the author’s imagination of how the actual interview would have been if we got the chance to interview these famous (for all the wrong reasons) personalities in real life. In short, just a good laugh.
ED: Hello, and welcome to ED’s Fake Friendly Fridays. Today we have with us Mukesh Khanna, aka Shaktimaan. Welcome to the show, sir!
Shaktimaan: Thank you very much for inviting me!
ED: Well, you left us no choice after that misogynist comment of..
Shaktimaan (cutting me): Oh lord, don’t start yapping on how big of a misogynist I am or how feminism is necessary. What I said was only the truth, and you can’t deny that!
ED: I assure you I can. But, before we get into all that, do you mind if we share the clip with our audience to freshen their memory?
Shaktimaan: Absolutely! More and more people should hear that.
ED: Not sure if I agree, but anyway, let’s see the video once again.

Shaktimaan (deep into nostalgia): What an interview that was (sighs)! See how wonderful I look! And what perfect words! No wonder this video got viral.
ED: Mmm… Not sure if you understood why it got viral. But again, you don’t seem to understand a lot of basic things such as women empowerment or gender equality.
Shaktimaan (frustrated): Your lot is increasing in number day-by-day. What a sad day for mankind! All you people talk about is being equal to men. So desperate to come out of the four walls of the house.
ED: Of course, we are! Wouldn’t you be after being forced to live within the confines of your home and kitchen for centuries?

Shaktimaan: Arre yaar, life was so easy for you. Eat, sleep, eat, repeat! It’s like digging your own grave by working and taking so much tension. The men were there to do all that. You people had one task – taking care of children. You couldn’t even do that! And talk about equality!
ED: But most women actually do that. They handle both the outside work and their household pretty well.
Shaktimaan: If you were doing it as well as you claim, then we wouldn’t have had movements like #MeToo which started after women started taking equal authority at workplaces. Balance of nature disturbed!
ED: The balance was disturbed when people like you were born, but keeping that aside for a moment. These movements were started when women gained the courage to speak up against harassment and abuse, which were earlier shrugged off in the fear of “log kya kahenge”. Log like you.
Shaktimaan: Tell me this. A mother is a child’s first teacher. What will she teach her son if she stays out working?
ED: Self-dependence, which seems alien to you since you need a “woman” around you to learn manners? And if women working is the problem, then why did rapes and other crimes against women used to happen back when as many women did not work? Though you are not as ancient as your thoughts, but still older than me. You should know better!
Please excuse me for taking the liberty of assuming that your mother never worked outside of your house. You did get her love growing up. But see how you turned out yourself.
Shaktimaan (struggling to find words): But.. mm.. You have no right to say something like this about my mother.
ED: Just like you had no right to say all the stuff that you did in that interview. At least what I am saying makes sense unlike you…ouch!
Shaktimaan (red-faced)
Shaktimaan: Ok, I should leave now. Where should I give my autograph?
ED: Oh, that won’t be necessary. You either die as a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. We don’t need misogynistic superheroes for sure! Anyway, thank you so much for joining us today. Have a great day!
