With Valentines’ Day around the corner, all you single people out there might be wondering what to do? Well, we’re here to save you the trouble. The Economics Department of Lady Shri Ram College for Women presents its first ever International Students’ Symposium – Econvista’15 on this 13th and 14th of February.
What’s Econvista?
Econvista began as a National Symposium in 2013 and has grown ever since. For the first time since its inception, Econvista has expanded its territorial boundaries to Nepal and Pakistan.
Theme
Centred on “Emerging Economies – Trade, Stability and Inclusion”, the theme of Econvista this year is highly relevant in the current economic scenario, both in India and abroad. Econvista provides one of the best forums to have a very stimulating and engaging discussion on recent economic issues and carry out detailed analysis of policy prescriptions keeping in mind the near future prospects.
Events
There are a multitude of events lined up for this symposium with something catering to everyone’s interest. While the flagship events like Dr. Saroj Gupta Memorial Paper Presentation, Policy Dilemma and Eco-Matters will provide you the opportunity to frame the policies which suit the economy the best or even formulate new theories.
Other formal events like Disequilibrium, Eco Prayog, Mock IPO and Checkmate will provide participants a platform to engage in constructive discussions with some of the best minds from both inside and outside the country.
But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! Events like Eco Trails, Ecomystery and Quid Pro Quo will uplift the fun quotient. Other events include Rural Entrepreneurship and Stuck on Barter Island.
Guests
The Prelude to Econvista will comprise guest lectures by some of the most eminent people in the country, who will be speaking on various issues of current economic significance. On 4th February, a guest lecture by Ms. Shikha Sharma, MD and CEO of Axis Bank was held which was to be followed by another guest lecture on 5th February by Dr. Rajat Kathuria, Director and Chief Executive of ICRIER.
