Startup Fortune, July 6, 2020: Damian Prosalendis has made quite the financial jump from a 19-year-old college student being near flat broke and sleeping on a mattress pulled from the trash to a jet setting millionaire traveling all over the globe. The young entrepreneur, now 24 is the CEO of multiple self-produced companies including Badass talent, Studio Badass, and Anax Publishing. Multiple real estate investments and a far from humble forex investment portfolio has put him far ahead of the competition. We are going to dive in and extract what we can from Mr. Prosalendis’s unconventional path to success.

What advice would you give to the younger generation and the typical middle-class students that you wish was given to you?

Figure it out as you go, you don’t need a groundbreaking idea to get rich, this is

one of the major problems keeping so many individuals from success. Don’t be afraid to just dive in, execution of any goal large or small will constantly provide better results than the largest goals unexecuted. Find a skill, develop it, and monetize it. There are plenty of things that people need, I made my first million on Fiverr. It wasn’t that glamorous, but what made the difference was really diving in and dedicating myself to honing my skill.

What kind of talent do you look for when you build a team?

I look for all the skills I do not possess personally. I’m not a videographer nor am I a film director, so I hire people in these positions for my video production company for example. Trying to be a one-man army is a sure way to burn yourself out. Hire people in the places that you lack skill and choose the ones that wish to excel just the same as you do.

How do you react to those that would call you “another overnight millionaire”?

There was no silver spoon in my mouth, but nobody sees the struggle; they only see the benefits that come from it. Every day my most important focus is bettering myself. I win against myself first and my success grows outward. It’s tirelessly pushing that ball up the hill blind as to when it will take off and start rolling on its own but diligently pushing until it does. Nobody sees that process behind the scenes, they only see the reward, and that’s ok.
