Some people you can never really hate no matter how hard you try. Shri. APJ Abdul Kalam and Shri. Amitabh Bachchan are two such iconic Indians. In a world rather ironically united in hate than by love, (yeah, we can fight out this declaration in the comment section below), why indeed do Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Mr APJ Abdul Kalam not have haters?
Let’s Find Out the Cult Behind These Cult Figures!
One was the 11th President of the largest democracy in the world, the other is the greatest Superstar ever born in Indian cinema. Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Mr APJ Abdul Kalam have quintessentially remained original figures, No pesticides, preservatives or plagiarism involved, we are looking at two men who made it big from scratch. From nothing, to everything.
To Never Back Down
Their success belongs to the perseverance and hard work against every odd, nobody can really hate people who didn’t fashion themselves on any role model but instead became the role models for millions of people.
APJ Abdul Kalam missed out on a chance to join the Air Force so he became a rocket scientist to touch the skies. Amitabh Bachchan was disqualified in a radio audition because they said that he had an unsuitable voice, and now his voice is the most recognized voice in India. Can you believe that?
Here’s what happens when you look at anyone’s success story, you take every little detail in their lives, every insignificant mundane little thing and embellish them to fit into the big picture, the lows make the high look even better. People all over India are therefore inspired by the timeless grit that these two icons embody, Kalam and Bachchan embody the never-give-up attitude people want to imbibe.
Mr. Bachchan was once on the verge of bankruptcy until Kaun Banega Crorepati revived his career. He made a big come back with a big show when his legacy was on the verge of being wiped out, and his rise has been meteoric ever since. And as for Mr. Kalam, at the age of 83 when he passed away due to cardiac arrest, he was still actively working as a teacher/speaker/advisor.
If you have to learn how to fight learn from these two men, they came, conquered and championed their dreams against their destiny.
Humility Is Humanity
It is extraordinary what Kalam has done for Indian science and technology as a scientist apart from serving as the most dignified of the statesmen in the recent times. It is beyond anyone how much Amitabh Bachchan has done for Indian cinema. Still, read any interview, any press conference, you will never find one sentence when they are NOT humble about their achievements.
Mr Kalam never for once asked for an extra dish to be cooked during his tenure as the President. His family visited him only once in 5 years and he paid for their stay at the Bhawan. When he had to leave, everyone revered him as a person who made them feel like he was one of them.
Similarly, Amitabh Bachchan is famous for being enthusiastic about young directors and actors always looking for fresh ideas to improve upon his acting. Everyone in the industry raves on about how his creative energy always makes them feel like he is one of their own. These two men are like tall trees, whose roots go as deep as their heights- they know all about the sacrifices and hardships of success, these two men are thus firmly grounded.
Steering Clear Of Controversies
Nobody can say anything controversial against APJ Abdul Kalam, there are no scams, no controversial statements, no allegations to his name. On the other hand, Mr Bachchan is famous for his maintaining a low key family life, and even when his name has been embroiled in some controversy, it has merely been speculations and false statements. The history of his alleged relationship with Rekha is mentioned only respectfully, never to taint his name.
People cannot help but be in love with personalities who have kept such a clean slate in their long careers.
Finally, they are aware of who they are as public personalities and have used their excellent communication skills to encourage people to think progressively. Amitabh has shot numerous campaigns for developmental projects and Kalam, besides being the missile man of India, always ensured that he was doing well for our children, so much so that he left late from events to listen to every last child.
It is, thus, the wholesome aura of their self-actualized existence and their pro-social personalities that invite profound respect of everyone they meet around them. You can only love them more and more and more.
