Back in Time is ED’s newspaper-like column that reports an incident from the past as though it has happened just yesterday. It allows the reader to relive it several years later, on the date it had occurred.
28th August 2011: Arsenal has been beaten black and blue by Manchester United (8-2) and it was probably the most humiliating day as a coach for Arsene Wenger.
The thrashing by United is a testimony to the fact that the loss of Fabregas has been a big blow to them and Wenger must quickly sort out all the moves to bring in Nasri as soon as possible.

Wenger sent out a depleted side which was weakened by injuries and suspensions but even this cannot justify the manner in which they were outperformed in all departments of the pitch and hammered by the Reds.
Wayne Rooney was United’s maverick sensation who scored the sixth hat-trick of his Old Trafford career, but one cannot forget Ashley Young’s two marvelous goals. Danny Welbeck, Nani and Park Ji-sung were the other scorers.
The Spaniard, David de Gea distinguished himself with a superb penalty save from the talisman, Van Persie moments after Welbeck had scored the opening goal and in a game of unending misery for Arsenal’s new boy, Carl Jenkinson, the Gunners were left to lick their own wound after he was sent off.

Arsenal’s uncertainty was partly explained by the unfamiliar look of their team, but the flaws were exposed by the manner in which United played. Arsene has been a great servant to Arsenal and the reason why the Gunners is a classy outfit is all because of him. He has all the right in the world when to hang up his boots. At the same time, if we think from a fan’s point of view, it’s high time that Wenger leaves the club and some new blood is injected in the club to give them a renewed vision and path for winning trophies.

Fabregas, Henry has already left us. There are rumors of even Persie going to United. Since moving to Highbury, Wenger seems to have lost the plot. The supporters of the Gunners are quite faithful but for how long can they remain so?
This PL season will be quite a fight and if the scintillating form of United and catastrophic performance of Arsenal is anything to go by, it is going to be a long season for Wenger.
