All Dhinchak Pooja’s Videos Have Been Removed From YouTube, By YouTube

675

Achee Din Aa Gaye!  Dhinchak Pooja YouTube videos have officially been deleted. She was someone who was laughed at mercilessly but then no one could ignore her. We might hate her singing skills but she was the talk of the country.

In the land of Aryabhattas, ‘Selfie Maine Leli aaj’ had crossed more than 30 million views and she has about 1,79,000 subscribers on her Youtube channel.

One will still find her profile on Youtube but none of her videos are available anymore.

What Really Happened?

Someone named Kathappa Singh submitted a copyright takedown notice on Dhinchak Pooja’s videos and upon reviewing the claim, YouTube decided to take her content off air.

That’s Kattappa in Bahubali, this one’s Kathappa.  Both of them have successfully taken down the “stalwarts” in their respective fields and we couldn’t be happier.

Reason for doing the needful

What might have happened is that Mr. Kathappa was either not given recognition for his efforts in the making of the video or he might have mistakenly appeared in the video as a simple passerby and it didn’t go down well with him.

This won’t happen again.

How does YouTube determine if content should be removed for a privacy violation?

For content to be considered for removal, an individual must be uniquely identifiable by image, voice, full name, Social Security number, bank account number or contact information (e.g. home address, email address). Examples that would not violate our privacy guidelines include gamer tags, avatar names, and address information in which the individual is not named. We also take public interest, newsworthiness, and consent into account when determining if content should be removed for a privacy violation. YouTube reserves the right to make the final determination of whether a violation of its privacy guidelines has occurred.

For the reader or the listener out here, all we need to understand that no one can force us to listen to her songs for the next few days at least.

Is it A Legal Claim?

At the same time, let’s hope that the copyright claim is a legitimate one because, in spite of her crash lyrics, she has the right to upload her videos and get fame and money through it. Just because she is despised upon is no reason for anyone to get her videos deleted. If the claim is just a façade, this might set a wrong trend and the upcoming quirky Vloggers will be the ones to lose out.

Well, who knows it might end up as a publicity stunt.
