Acer Launches The World’s Thinnest Laptop Alongside The First Curved Screen Laptop

As companies strive to bring the best of the technologies, Acer has managed to promise us the best of both worlds. At the recent IFA exhibition, Acer introduced the 8-kilo gram Predator 21X parallel to the thinnest laptop in the world, the Swift 7.

With the launch of the Predator 21X, Acer has also introduced to the world the first ever curved screen laptop designed for a wide angle view, and specially made for avid gamers.

The two laptops are the first to come with Intel’s 7th generation Core i- series processor, which not only promises better battery life, but also greater power for video decoding and playback.

The Predator 21X

Acer’s Predator 21X comes with a 21-inch IPS display (2560×1080) and NVIDIA® G-SYNC™ technology to ensure smooth gaming experience. It also comes with Tobii eye-tracking technology that would help users navigate through a game, or even strike a weapon by a mere glance.

In addition to this, the Predator 21X offers SoundPound 4.2+ (4 speakers and 2 subwoofers), 3-way audio and Dolby® Audio.

With five cooling fans, 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processors, dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 graphic cards, almost four terabytes of SSD storage, and a numeric keypad that can be flipped over to a Precision Touchpad, the Predator 21X is clearly the mother of all laptops.

The Swift 7

The 13.3-inch clamshell laptop is 9.98-mm thick and is the first laptop that is less that 1-cm thick. It comes with a full HD (1920×1080) display, 256GB of SSD storage and 8GB of RAM and a USB Type- C port that ensures quicker data transfer and charging.

With an elegant all aluminium uni-body, the Swift 7 comes with a Corning® Gorilla® Glass that ensures a scratch-resistant display. Apart from this, the 1.1-kilo gram laptop, promises an amazing battery life of 9 hours.

Availability and Price

The Swift 7 laptop will first be made available in China at ¥6,999 in September, followed by Europe and the United States in October, at €1,299 and $999 respectively.

The Predator 21X is assumed to be made available only from January 2017, and its price is still unknown, but for the features, it intends to offer, it will surely not be an easy buy.

The two laptops that have managed to bring Acer back in papers are sure to give a tough competition to their counterparts. The new core i- processor is put to test, and it is this that will probably help compensate for the slightly overpriced Swift 7.

On the other hand, the Predator 21X is charming its way through its ‘curves’ with a larger than ever screen size and storage capacity.

The two laptops offer a lot more than one can find in the current market. With the tentative launch dates set for the two laptops, the exuberantly designed machines can soon be seen ruling the market.

The launch of the two laptops is nothing less than a hint for the other companies to buckle up to try to keep evolving the technologies in order to keep the race interesting.
