The Oscars are the most anticipated award show of the year. Every year all the best moviemakers and actors walk across the red carpet in plush designer clothing, pose in front of a thousand flashy lights and put up awesome snapchats with fellow stars of crazy behind-the-scenes of the show.
The best bunch from every fine movie released in the year are found sitting in Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. To give you a scoop of the highlights and to-be winners of the night, ED forecasts the best things that might happen at the 88th Academy Awards.
CHRIS ROCK WILL ROCK THE HOSTING
Standup comedian Chris Rock will be rocking this year’s Oscars with his marvelous comic timing. With Neil Patrick Harris still ruling over everybody’s minds from the last Oscars, it’ll be a piece of cake for Chris to win over everybody’s heart as well.
NO MORE WAITING FOR LEONARDO DICAPRIO
10 years and 3 Best Actor nominations, but 0 wins. By now, there wouldn’t be a single person on this planet who wouldn’t have encountered multiple memes over Leo’s Best Actor snub at Oscars every year that he’s nominated. The curse shall finally be broken when he’ll be walking home with the golden statuette for his role in the movie The Revenant, the movie that swiped the most nominations this year.
NO OSCAR FOR SYLVESTER STALLONE
It would be a really big surprise if Sylvester Stallone walks off as winning the Best Supporting Actor with actors like Tom Hardy, Mark Ruffalo and Christian Bale in race. It’s more of a Tom Hardy’s year this time at the Oscars. With Tom not winning, it could possibly be one of the biggest snubs of the year.
SPOTLIGHT FOR BEST PICTURE
Well, there might be a surprise when it comes to the best picture win of the evening at the 88th Academy Awards. The best contender for the best picture nomination is The Revenant, The Martian, Bridge of Spies and Spotlight. Since The Revenant and The Martian have already won the Golden Globe this year, I wouldn’t bet my money on either one. It’s either Spielberg classic or Spotlight. And Spotlight has better chances of winning.
BRIE TAKES HOME BEST ACTRESS
Actress Brie Larson has already grabbed the Best Actress awards at all the major award shows of the year. Only a hurricane can stop her from winning the Oscar for her mind-blowing role in the movie Room.
TOUGH COMPETITION FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
While it is almost certain that Brie will take home the Oscar for Best Actress, the same cannot be said about for actresses in race for Best Actress. While the Academy has already been kind enough to Kate Winslet, one can hope she could be skipped for Oscar this time and the competition will be tough between Alicia Vikander (for Ex Machina) and Rooney Mara (for Carol).
FASHION AT ITS PEAK
Now this one won’t be a surprise. They’ll be all kinds of up and coming fashion trends that’ll be showcased at the Oscars this year. Some of the most stylish celebrities of the evening shall include Jennifer Lawrence, Brie Larson, Kate Winslet and Rachel McAdams. Not to forget, Brad Pitt, Leo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, Matt Damon and so many more.
CLASS PERFORMERS WOULD RANK UP THE TRP
Performances from Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Dave Grohl and The Weeknd are in line at the Oscars this year. With Sam Smith’s ‘Writing on the Wall’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Til it Happens to You’, it would be one hell of a night. The Weeknd would also glisten up the night with their exquisite performance of ‘Earned it’.
And this was it for most of the major predictions of the 88th Academy Awards. It would be an interesting watch to see if Leo finally wins the Oscar or not (Come on Academy, give him one already!). Oh and also Priyanka Chopra would be presenting an award too. So you might wanna tune in at 5:30 AM at Star Movies to watch the live telecast of the award show from Hollywood.
