The Earth is dying a slow death and some people in India and a few around the world have found a solution to this problem. ‘Roll in the dirt till you get an orgasm’ or ‘have sex with a tree’, these ideas may sound unbelievable to our ears but these people who call themselves ECOSEXUALS are actually doing it.
Who are Ecosexuals?
In an Arts Festival in Sydney last year, people from around the world gathered to talk about how Nature is dying a little every day. They were people from different parts of the world but had one common belief- Sex with nature can revitalize it.
Ecosexuals can be of various degrees but they use sustainable, ‘eco-friendly’- sex products to derive sexual pleasures from mother Earth.
When Tumblr listed all kinds of sexuality earlier this year, ‘Exosexuals’ did not feature on the list but that is going to change very soon. People describing themselves as ecosexuals have filed a petition to make ecosexuality a catalogued sexuality like all others.
Probably the first people who came out as ecosexuals were artist couple Annie Sprinkle and Elizabeth Stephens who made spreading ecosexuality a personal crusade. Today almost sixteen years later about 1, 00,000 people have joined their crusade which seems to be spreading like wildfire.

The official website of ecosexuals states “The Earth is our lover. We are madly, passionately, and fiercely in love, and we are grateful for this relationship each and every day. In order to create a more mutual and sustainable relationship with the Earth, we collaborate with nature. We treat the Earth with kindness, respect, and affection.”
The couple also made a documentary on the lives of ecosexuals called Goodbye Gauley Mountain: An Ecosexual Love Story, which depicts the “pollen-amorous” relationship between them and the Appalachian Mountains in the United States.
Truth be told, ecosexuals are just activists trying to save the earth like all others. They have used their desire as a tool to save the environment. Their aim is to forge a connection between man and nature that is so deep that it prevents us to kill nature thereby saving it.
By making the Earth our lover one can become aware of the decreasing environmental conditions too. Seeing the pathetic air condition in Delhi right now I’d say Ecosexuality is here to stay!
