Protests have always been the most viable method to make the government hear the demands of the people when it turns a deaf ear.
The concept of protests and agitations isn’t modern. It has been there in society since ancient and medieval times.
However, it gained momentum after religious control over societies loosened and people started educating themselves about their natural and constitutional rights.
It would be wrong to say that all protests end up successfully. While some protests are able to achieve their goals by making the authorities bend before their demands, others may not have a lasting impact. Also, various protests have been brutally and politically suppressed over the decades.
