Swedish car maker, Volvo has always been a synonym to safest cars in the business. They developed first safety cage in 1944, the first three-point seatbelt in 1959 and the first side impact airbag in 1994 but still the car maker have always been struggling to make good profits. So to boost their sales, they’ve launched another luxury car in the Indian market and this time it is hot hatchback competing against the likes of Mercedes Benz A-class, BMW 1-series and Audi A3 Sportsback and it is called- Volvo V40 that will be available in two trims – Kinetic and R-Design
EXTERIOR
The car is going to impress you straight away on the first look. Aggressive headlamps, curvaceous body, long bonnet and the bold Volvo logo will leave you spellbound. The roof rail on the picturesque body of the car gives it a very sporty look.
The R-Design is bound to get some extra features like new alloy wheels, improved front grille and a mighty panoramic glass roof.INTERIOR
Open the door to enter the plush two-tone upholstery of brown-and-beige with a lot of detailing using the silver. I personally loved the simple yet very significant electronic instrumental cluster of the car. V40 provides more than comfortable seating to four due to abundance of leg and headroom but don’t thinking of adding another person here. Electric-powered leather seats, climate control and rear wiper add a lot of ease to the driving. The sporty V40 boasts of 225/50 R17 Michelin tyres yet there isn’t much engine noise in the cabin. The sound and infotainment system is crisp and 320 litre of boot space is enough to carry heavy luggage.
