When one says a budget holiday, a couple of destinations come to mind, but it is Dubai that sticks out more than any other.
Sure there are places like Bali, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and more. However, they all seem to pale in front of all that Dubai has to offer.
Dubai is not only the paradise destination for budget travellers but is also preferred by high society members who wish to shop here and flaunt the best brands back home.
Dubai is the city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates or UAE. It is world-renowned for a wide range of things. From luxury shopping to jaw-dropping architecture, dizzying nightlife and more.
Before you become mesmerised by the beautiful sights of Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, you must safely get to Dubai in the first place. So here are a couple of things you must keep in mind when travelling to Dubai:
1. What Time To Visit:
Just like any other hotspot tourist destination, the off months are always considered a better time to visit.
However, you don’t necessarily need to go by what is recommended as even the summer months like May and June can be an excellent time to visit.
Dubai holidays during this time offer a wider range of options because many businesses and sight-seeing places are open during peak season.
2. Visa:
For Dubai, Indian citizens need to apply for a visa, but the good thing is that the process is not as difficult or arduous as getting a US or UK visa.
You can either apply for one straight from the embassy or there are online websites from where you can apply for a Dubai visa. Musafir.com is a good bet; it is not only well known but is also an IATA accredited travel agency.
Make sure you apply for the visa 20 to 30 days in advance before leaving for the trip, so that you have enough time in case any trouble arises.
3. Tickets:
When travelling to Dubai, air travel is the best way to go and you will find the tickets to be of reasonable fare. A round trip ticket from Delhi to Dubai will cost you less than 20k, which is more than fair.
Also, timing can affect the price of the ticket, so opt for an early morning flight as they are the most affordable as well as least filled. So you will have a smoother journey.

4. Accommodation:
Since you will be saving money on plane tickets, you can afford to splurge on the accommodations in Dubai without going too overboard.
One of the places that are budget and yet exudes luxury would be the Hyatt Place Dubai/Al Rigga. The hotel is close to the airports and has excellent facilities whilst being in a safe environment. Female travellers, please take note.
Apart from that, you can also check online for some good budget hotels in Dubai to get a better picture.
5. What To Experience In Dubai:
The best experiences while travelling are those which come spontaneously or unplanned. The excitement of finding a unique thing or a cool place without searching for it is unlike anything else.
Even still, you obviously have the touristy places in Dubai like Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountain is a must visit, especially at night. For shopping lovers, January is a good month to go during the Dubai Shopping Festival.
But apart from that, do check in with your concierge or driver on what are some good places to visit. No list can give you a better suggestion than a local. They can even make you aware of any customs or rules you must follow or areas to avoid or what times are best to visit a place.
