The world we are living in right now has come a long way; it has seen some of the most iconic incidents wherein people have been dejected or dispirited in the name of caste or religion. However, the world has also been fortunate enough to give birth to individuals who are above all these things. They are the ones who promote peace above all kinds of caste and religion and go ahead in creating a special place for themselves in society and the community as a whole. Being true to his religion and going beyond boundaries is a youngster named Syed Shaban Bukhari, who is a loyal Islamist, but is a peace lover and has been trying to educate people on the same lines in his community.
What’s interesting to know about this young gentleman is that he serves as the Deputy (Naib) Shahi Imam of the most popular Jama Masjid in Delhi. It is surreal to know that a young man of his age has been effortlessly managing this notable position and has also been creating a unique name for himself across the community with his notable works. Born in Delhi in the year 1995, Syed Shaban Bukhari hails from a family that is of Islamic theologists and have to their credit the precedence over the grand mosque Jama Masjid, Delhi for the past thirteen years.
This is the same mosque that was built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in 1656, who gave one of the seven wonders of the world – The Taj Mahal. Shahjahan at that point had appointed Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari, who was Syed Shaban Bukhari’s great grandfather as the first-ever Imam of the Jama Masjid, Delhi and gave the Imamat to be continued in the same family. In 2014, Syed Shaban Bukhari took over the status of the Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid after his father the Thirteenth Shahi Imam, Maulana Syed Ahmed Bukhari.
What makes Syed Shaban Bukhari class apart from others is his compassionate nature and his quest to help people, especially in trying times like these, where people need more food, shelter and basic necessities. Taking inspiration from his forefathers, Syed Shaban Bukhari has been trying to give his best to the mosque by rendering services and taking people more towards peace above all kinds of religious beliefs and systems.
Truly, he has earned the love, respect and blessings of not only his community but all those people whose lives have been touched by him.
