SAFE is all set to redefine mental health in entrepreneurship.
Having the dream to create something that could ignite inspiration and a powerful change in society is one thing, and showcasing courage, passion, and determination to turn those dreams into reality is different. Entrepreneurs and founders may take years to do this, but a handful have remained steadfast in doing so, creating a unique path of success for them and emerging as inspirational figures for the world. Who better than Sharmin Ali to serve as an example here? This tenacious and driven serial entrepreneur, founder of Instoried and angel investor, who has thus far in her career raised millions in funding, launched multiple businesses and created thousands of jobs, established the Sharmin Ali Foundation for Entrepreneurs (SAFE).
The driven and determined founder today has transformed the world of mental health for entrepreneurs with her one-of-a-kind foundation that is known for creating a safe space for them without the fear of being judged by the world. SAFE is a platform dedicated to providing mental health support to entrepreneurs. Sharmin Ali decided to create something unique and meaningful after she underwent chronic stress leading to a life-threatening cardiac arrest. However, surviving the same made her realise that many others would silently endure similar struggles. This trigger was enough for her to create SAFE and begin efforts in the direction of aiding the mental health of entrepreneurs.
SAFE aims to provide mental health resources tailored to the demanding world of entrepreneurship. Sharmin Ali says that collaborating with industry experts, organisations, and policymakers will help foster a supportive environment. She further explains, “Entrepreneurs are often seen as unstoppable. SAFE is here to acknowledge their emotional and mental health needs.” Her advocacy was also celebrated on the NASDAQ billboard in Times Square, spotlighting mental health in business.
Sharmin Ali plans to conduct research, host conferences and offer stress management tools to ensure entrepreneurs receive the necessary support. Her journey underscores the importance of mental well-being in entrepreneurship. She emphasises that by sharing experiences through SAFE and supporting each other, entrepreneurs can foster a healthier entrepreneurial ecosystem.
