After the stupendous success of the inaugural edition of ‘Run to Clean’ event hosted in June 2016 at Connaught Place, Keep India Beautiful and CII Young Indians is proud to organise the second edition of ‘Run to Clean’ on September 10, 2017.
It’s time to carry on this initiative, which was started last year, and prick everyone’s conscious by running together to clean the environment as there is no other planet to run to.
The participants will be running CrossFit style, armed with garbage backpacks, gloves, and cleaning their running path. After picking litter using biodegradable garbage bag and gloves, all the participants would deposit the collected garbage in an authorised dump yard.
Traffic will be cordoned off from entering the inner circle of Connaught Place during the duration of this event.
Also, an interesting street play by Parikalpana on cleanliness will be showcased.
Let’s spread this awareness…Be fit and spread cleanliness!
Venue: Connaught Place, D – Block, Near Reebok CrossFit Avenue
Date: Sunday, 10th of September 2017
Time: 6:30 am sharp
This is a free-for-all event about spreading awareness regarding cleanliness. Hydration and refreshments shall be made available during the event and participants shall be felicitated with medals.
A lot of known and renowned organisations are also attached to this event such as:
Reebok CrossFit Robust, NDMC, Dharma Life, Yogaushdhi, Fever 104 FM Delhi, CII Young Indians – Delhi Chapter, Footprints Childcare, Rotary Club of Delhi Uptown, NDTV and Mahavira International School.
The NGO organizing this event called Keep India Beautiful is a new organisation that strives towards inspiring and educating people towards keeping our communities clean and beautiful.
Cleanliness, tackling litter, waste minimization and recycling are huge issues that affect our country and something that can be dealt with if everyone works together.
We can already see how quickly we can turn our situation around and clear up our surroundings as evident from the success of Ambikapur, Surat, Indore and more that are considered the cleanest cities in India.
If the community and people of Delhi come together then there is no reason why we too can’t join in being an example to the rest of the country and finally establishing why Delhi is the capital of the country.
Let’s Run to Clean our surroundings instead of running away from our responsibility! See you there!
