Mr. Gaurav Jalan, Founder of Packman Packaging

New Delhi (India), March 20: The packaging industry has been trying to evolve since Single-use plastic proved to be hazardous to biodiversity. The need to introduce the substitute which does least or no harm to the environment is the biodegradable corn bags. Packman Packaging, which is a one-stop solution for all packaging needs, took the initiative by introducing eco-friendly bags that are made up of corn.  The existing clients of the company who have started using these bags in the packaging are Flower Aura, Jockey, Flipkart, Amazon, and Ferns N Petals, to name a few.

Corn is a biodegradable ingredient that will not harm biodiversity. Since corn renews itself, it grows in the soil, which makes these bags decomposable; it gets dissolved in the soil and does not harm the environment. As the corn grows, it draws in carbon dioxide from the air and also provides us with fresh breathable air. Some of the carbon from the air ends up in the plant’s roots, which remain in the soil after the cane or stalk is cut. Most bags that are manufactured from plastic are hazardous, like polylactic acid blends. Bio-based polymers will contaminate the recycling of other, more common polymers. Packman’s biodegradable corn bags prove to be the best substitute or alternative for plastics in the coming future.
