This week on Friendly Fridays we got a chance to interview the very talented, funny and witty Jim Sarbh. Jim first became the talk of B-town for his performance as hot headed ‘Khaleel’ in the superhit film Neerja!
He then managed to wow audiences with enrapturing performances in Padmaavat, Made In Heaven and more.
Let’s start our rendezvous with him.
Team ED: How did you feel after the huge success of Neerja (2016), in one word?
Jim Sarbh: Titillated
Team ED: How did it all start? When did ‘Jim Sarbh’ get recognised?
Jim Sarbh: Back in 1986, my parents had sexy times, and a few years later I started making a career of running away from them in crowded places and talking to some kind, older woman into buying me chocolate.
Not much has changed.
Team ED: Where do you see yourself going from here on?
Jim Sarbh: I rarely see myself, and when I do I’m either too fascinated or too afraid. Neither seems healthy, so I go for a walk and think about birds or water pollution.
Team ED: What has been the maximum number of takes you have done for a particular shoot?
Jim Sarbh: Five
Team ED: What is the biggest challenge that you face concerning your work?
Jim Sarbh: Getting distracted by beautiful women
Team ED: What’s your take on woman-centric films that are becoming popular these days and which one is your favourite? (Apart from Neerja, Ofcourse! )
Jim Sarbh: Power to them, the more the merrier. Kill Bill.
Team ED: What’s the craziest thing you have ever done?
Jim Sarbh: Crossed the Gaumukh glacier by myself, delirious, vomiting, and sweating profusely. I was following butterflies as totally viable ‘I have no better ideas’ kind of guides.
Also once I had sex in Central Park and was chased by a police helicopter.
Team ED: What’s the wackiest thing can one find in Jim Sarbh’s browser history?
Jim Sarbh: Danse Russe by William Carlos Williams
Team ED: Given the chance to travel, where would you go and with whom?
Jim Sarbh: Ngorongoro Crater with This girl I-no

Team ED: One annoying habit that you can’t seem to shake off?
Jim Sarbh: Tardiness
Team ED: What’s the excuse you use most often to get out of work?
Jim Sarbh: Exhausted, give me a break.
Team ED: One celebrity you would love to have you follow on Twitter?
Jim Sarbh: I saw nothing of interest on Twitter. But I’d like to have dinner with Nawazzudin Siddiqui. Scratch that. I’d like to sit a few tables away from him when he’s on a date and quietly observe.
Team ED: What’s that one question you hate to answer?
Jim Sarbh: So, what do you do?
Team ED: If you could own one thing (materialistic only) in life just for a day, what would it be?
Jim Sarbh: A very friendly (to me) wolf, or The Parliament House.
Team ED: Lastly, we have a small Rapid fire, name the first thing that comes to your mind when we say:
Favourite genre (Films): Drama
Stress buster: Sex
Periods: Sex
Zodiac Signs: Sex, no just joking. Virgo, The Virgin. (Totally!)
Pizza: Mmmmm
Theatre: Home
Honey Singh: Honey, sing.
Word/phrase you use the most: Groovy
Commercial film vs. Art film: No competition: a good film is a good film.
Thank you so much, Jim, for giving us time. We loved every bit of this Friendly Fridays interview with you.
With that, it’s a wrap of this fun-filled edition of Friendly Fridays. We will be back again next week, with some more fun and friendly chats. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
See you again next week, till then, adios!
