The recently concluded Startup Expo, organized by Lufthansa &TiE, became one of the most talked about startup events in the circuit.
With 2500 startups, mentors, investors, industry partners and the government getting together to fuel the startup story of the nation, Startup Expo was a runaway success with over 10,000 visitors walking the floor at the event on that one day.
What was commendable on the part of the organizers was the deliberate focus on pushing women entrepreneurs into the limelight.
Out of a great line-up of workshop sessions, the women entrepreneurs’ panel got everybody talking:
She Leads The StartUp Story: How women are driving new businesses.
Amrita Tripathi from SheThePeople.TV, UpasanaTaku from Mobikwik, Smita Mishra from PoolWallet talked about their journey through idea realisation from concept to inception.
It was, however, not just about celebrating success but also about the failures that led them to turn around.
The session tried to answer some pertinent questions around what it takes for women to succeed and how they can make the start-up space as gender-neutral, as everyone hopes.
Shaili Chopra at the #StartupExpo
Shaili, the Founder of ShethePeople.tv shouts out to all women entrepreneurs who are ideating, starting up, or already in the game. She endorses that some elements in starting up can bog one down, like the elevator pitch, business model etc but the first thing to do is to forget that you’re a woman. She shared the perfect growth hacks to help one break the stereotype and scale up faster!
Not only was it about the women on the other side of the podium, but even the women exhibitors showed promise and excitement around their startups’ future.
Here are some first-hand stories:
