There are many stories and news about gangsters and mafia. Our own Bollywood and other film industries have no dearth of movies glamorising them or talking about their exploits. However, the news of Zoya Begum Khan, the lady don of Delhi has been going around these days being the cause of fascination for many.
Her name broke after Zoya Begum Khan, who is married to notorious gangster Hashim Baba, was arrested on Thursday by the Delhi Special Cell. Although it has not been a secret that Zoya was involved in her husband’s illegal operations, there has never been enough evidence against her to catch her.
However, on Thursday, an NDTV report claimed that the police finally caught her in possession of 270 grams of heroin said to cost almost Rs. 1 crore.
Who Is The Lady Don Of Delhi?
Zoya Begum Khan got married to gangster Hashim Baba in 2017 and became his third wife. Her husband has had several cases lodged against him such as murder, extortion, arms smuggling and more and he was finally jailed in the Tihar jail last year.
The arrest was because of his reported involvement in the murder of Nadir Shah a gym owner in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash. It was after this, that Zoya took over the reins of his operations.
As per Free Press Journal, she was trained by her husband during her regular visits to him in the Tihar jail where he would use code language to explain the gang’s operations. Zoya’s family also has criminal links with her mother recently getting jailed in 2024 because of her connection to a sex trafficking ring.

Zoya gained the nickname of ‘Lady Don’ due to her links to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and always being surrounded by several armed supporters.
Zoya was someone who enjoyed a lavish lifestyle, sources from the Special Cell claim that she would often attend high-profile parties, purchase and flaunt expensive brands and post it all on her social media too.
Reports state that Special Cell ACP Sanjay Dutt and Inspector Sandeep Dabas were the ones behind her arrest and they acted after being sent a tip-off. They caught her in Northeast Delhi’s Welcome area as she was supplying drugs and subsequently arrested her.
