It was a typical Sunday morning, I woke up late only to see that my Wireless Fidelity (Oh yeah, WiFi) was not working. And like a regular teenager of this era, the mornings did not begin without checking my phone. This just made me go back to sleep till I was woken up by the notification alerts of my messages. After I checked my WhatsApp messages, I logged on to facebook to check what was trending and just then, I saw THIS!
After reading this post my excitement knew no bounds! Not only did I share this post on all social media networking sites I am active on, but I made sure everyone I met in person knew that my childhood superheroes are going to come back on my television screen and subsequently back into my life! :’)
The nostalgic feels
This post took me back into the 90s. Watching Cartoon Network was the only thing on my ‘to-do-list’ (if I had one, back then). I used to sit at the right distance from the television, because otherwise I would not be allowed to watch it. And while my Grandmother and I used to argue about which show we would watch next, our argument would be interrupted by – “..THUS THE POWERPUFF GIRLS WERE BORN..” Yes, these words, even after fifteen odd years, still echoed in my head, as if it was only yesterday that I saw Blossoms, Bubbles and Buttercup save their town from Mojo jojo and other villains to rise against the evil.

Revise, review, and re-love
Now, for those of us who have a faint memory of my favorite characters, let’s rewind a little for them.
The show is an American Series originally created by Craig McCracken and produced by Cartoon Network. This show centers around Blossoms, Bubbles, Buttercups, with their super powers and their scientist father, Professor Utonium. They all live in the fictional city of Townsville, USA. The Powerpuff Girls showed how the three girls would fight all the criminals, monsters and general craziness of their fictional town (feminism in the most subtle way, Thank you Mr. McCracken). The show won multiple awards, including two Emmys, nine Annie Awards, and a Kids’ Choice Award during its run.
Characters
Each of the three girls has a predominant personality ingredient, so they are either sugar, spice or everything nice. And Blossoms and Bubbles had superpowers but Buttercup did not (Buttercup, you were the coolest Tomboy!)

Blossom is the leader of the Powerpuff Girls. Her personality ingredient is “everything nice”, her color is pink, and she has long red hair with a red bow. She is often seen as the most level-headed, and composed member of the group and also strong and determined. Her unique power is freezing objects with her breath.
Bubbles is the cute and sensitive one. Her personality ingredient is sugar, her signature color is blue, and she has short blonde hair in two pigtails. Bubbles is seen as kind and very sweet but she is also capable of extreme rage and can fight monsters just as well as her sisters can. Her unique power is emitting supersonic waves with her voice.
Buttercup is the toughest of the three. Her personality ingredient is spice, her signature color is green, and she has short black hair in a flip. She is a tomboy who loves to get dirty, fights hard and plays rough; she does not plan and is all action. Buttercup is the only Powerpuff Girl without a unique super power.
