Another prestigious award came in the name of Kamal H. Muhamed, a popular social activist and entrepreneur from Kerala, India. On the 15th of September 2024, he was awarded the Best Social Activist of the Year at the International Achievers Award Nepal. This is his third major recognition in this month. The event was conducted at the British College Trade Hall in Kathmandu, with personalities from all walks of the film, business, and social service industries gracing the event.
The award was given by Dr. Suhasini Sudan, Miss Universe for Humanity, India, who lauded Muhamed for his relentless efforts towards promoting humanitarian causes and improving the lives of many. Muhamed’s work epitomizes true service to society. It crosses all the boundaries of poverty, and hope is built for the underprivileged. Distinguished guests for this occasion were Shri Santosh Subedi, Chairman, Nepal Culture and Film Centre (NCFC); Bollywood producer Shri Amol Ji; and famous Nepalese actor Shri Dinesh Khadka.
From all these, we can gather how Kamal went out and participated in various social and humanitarian activities, including full-time engagement during Operation Rahat — a mass evacuation conducted by the Indian Embassy in Yemen in 2015. He also saved a college student from an oncoming train at Thalassery Station. And, of course, he was so bold when his son was rescued by a fire and rescue team during a lift accident. He actively participated in the Save Farmers mission and continues to work for the cause by protecting them from wild elephant attacks. Kamal has also been nominated as a member of the jury for the Asian Film Awards 2024, scheduled to be held in Vietnam. These engagements resonate with the commitment he shows to doing something for people at grassroots levels as well as internationally.
The fact that Kamal H. Muhamed is the only Indian awardee in this function gives an insight into the global influence of his humanitarian work. He initiated and sorted out few Community issues on long delayed matters and approvals due to corruption facts.He is actively Involved as head of state for AIACC an Anti – Corruption a division of AICHLS.
On top of that, the Best Social Activist certificate was personally signed and given by Honourable Shree Bimal Thakuri Ji, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Finance of Nepal. This indicates the esteem in which Muhamed’s benevolent work is held within and outside India
The awarding proper began with an environmentally-related unique tribute, a ritual of watering plants to focus on the environment. The ritual pointed to an event considered for sustainability, a cause dear to Muhamed’s heart regarding environmental protection. August 2024 has been a very rewarding month for Kamal H. Muhamed. Before he was awarded the International Achievers Award, he received the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Humanitarian Puraskaram on 28th August. It is an award in recognition of humanitarian work and was presented by Shri Hibi Eden, Member of Parliament, at a special function in Kochi. Attending this annual function were JCI’s National President, Dr. Rakesh Sharma, and Cochin Chapter President, Dr. Shabir Iqbal, along with many more illustrious men who appreciated Muhamed’s tireless service to society.
As recently as 24th August, Muhamed was bestowed the Dadasaheb Phalke International Motivational Award in the city of Mumbai. The renowned Punjabi and Hindi singer, Shri Baljeet Singh Ji, gave him the award. The event was founded by Shri A. Bhagat Ji, and other dignitaries were present during the ceremony. He was honored for his motivational work in social welfare and humanitarian services.
Not only through awards, but numerous modern organizations still keep Kamal H. Muhamed among their members. He is a member of the All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS), which is part of the United Nations Global Compact. Besides, Muhamed continues to collaborate with Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Wellmed Trip Mauritius to fulfill his health projects. His support of the Ammucare Charitable Trust, which forms a part of the Mohanji Foundation, further brings out his involvement in serving society.
Besides his social welfare activities, Kamal H. Muhamed has also flourished as an author. On 23rd March 2024, old friend and internationally renowned spiritual leader, Dr. Mohanji, unveiled his autobiography at a glittering function held in Kochi. The book lists the story of Muhamed’s courage in trials, tribulations, and his unflinching approach to justice and equity.
To prove this point, work like Kamal H. Muhamed’s exists as a testimony to one person’s commitment to making the world a better place. His work in social activism, healthcare, and humanitarian causes has set a benchmark for others to emulate. And with his recent awards, Muhamed is getting stronger, as he inspires people and communities around the world.
These awards are important but reflect only a fraction of the huge influence Kamal H. Muhamed has produced in his ongoing pursuit of social justice. As he moves forward, his work continues to be a shining example of how compassion, dedication, and action can change people’s lives for the better.
Muhamed thanked the NGOs, semi-government organizations, and social workers for making arrangements for him, including appreciation, tickets, and accommodations. He added that weekly events with parents, teachers, and community heads would assist in reducing selfishness in society. When Kamal was asked if the Nepal award was a precious gift he received on his 60th birthday, which is on 8th September, he said yes. He added that he would offer his services whenever they may be required.
