Iranians Troll Crying Indians: Here’s Why

-

When the news of Ali Hosseini Khamenei’s death during the Israeli-US attacks on Iran spread, immediate reactions burst from across the world. However, what followed was a clash between some Indians, who mourned the Iranian leader’s demise, and Iranians, who reacted with mockery towards the grief.

What Really Happened?

On February 28, 2026, the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran, targeting its capital, Tehran, and other military sites in the country. Amidst these strikes, the Supreme Leader of Iran since 1989, Ali Hosseini Khamenei, was declared dead owing to the strikes. Several other important personalities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were also killed as part of the attacks.

In a post on the platform called Truth Social, US President Donald Trump confirmed the incident, writing, “He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do.”

He continued, “This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country. Hopefully, the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] and Police will peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots.”

Following the death of the Iranian leader, reactions of all kinds came from Iran itself. While the country announced a 40-day mourning period over the demise of Khamenei, many others in Iran celebrated his tragic death.

Some users took to X (Twitter) to express their joy. “I’m crying, laughing, screaming, and experiencing every feeling in the world in three seconds,” a user wrote. Another said, “You riddled the people of Abdanan with bullets, but today it’s the people of Abdanan dancing on your corpse, criminal Khamenei.”

Amidst the diverse reactions coming from Iran, India’s response, too, took a different form. Several people across different cities in India, including Ranchi, Karnataka, as well as Jammu and Kashmir, predominantly belonging to the Sunni and Shia communities, held protests condemning the death of Iran’s leader.

A demonstrator from Karnataka’s Alipur said, “He was not just a Shia leader; his message was for all communities. America and Israel have carried out this attack, and some Arab countries have also backed it. It’s a loss to the world. Hence, we closed all establishments in Alipur for three days.”

Iranian Women Trolling Khamenei’s Mourners In India

Following such reactions from India, videos of Iranian women mocking and trolling the mourners of Khamenei’s death went viral. Some Iranian women reacted with surprise or sarcasm to the videos in reaction posts.

They questioned why people who had never lived under the Iranian political system were mourning the loss of the Iranian leader when Iranians themselves were seen celebrating. Further, these reactions were met with anger and dislike from Indians as well. This began a controversy between the opinions of two nations over the death of the Supreme Leader of Iran.

The debate surrounding Khamenei’s death was not just about one political leader, but about the years of suppression and tensions within Iran, especially against women in the country. As the world constantly evolves, we are in an era where war and bloodshed aren’t just issues for countries experiencing them but also for those who watch from a distance.
