The slapgate has been trending everywhere after news of BJP leader and actor Kangana Ranaut being allegedly slapped came out.

The actor-turned-MP, who has been elected as a Member of Parliament from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency was at the Chandigarh airport leaving for Delhi when the incident occurred.

During the security check a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable is reported to have slapped Kangana Ranaut because of Kangana’s comments during the farmers’ protests. Kangana also uploaded a video on her social media talking about it.

The CISF officer has, as per reports, been suspended and an inquiry committee will be doing further investigations. Kaur was offended by the comments made by Ranaut during the 2020-21 farmers’ protests and the participation of women in it.

In an X/Twitter post, Kangana had written that “Shaheen Bagh dadi” who was also featured in Times magazine was “available in 100 rupees” which Kaur found disrespectful since her mother had also taken part in the protests.

While there is much debate about the ethical/moral nature of the incident and whether slapping someone in public is justified or not, Kangana is not the first politician to experience this.

Here we take a look at a few other politicians who have been slapped in public.
