August 7, 2018 would surely be a dark day for the Indian politics because India lost a truly remarkable and genius leader when DMK patriarch, Muthuvel Karunanidhi succumbed to multiple organ failure at Kauvery Hospital, Chennai.
Karunanidhi, who was affectionately called, ‘Kalaignar’ by his loved and dear ones had managed to leave behind a three generations deeply rooted legacy when he had dominated the state of politics in Tamil Nadu since the age of 14 when he first forayed into politics.
Dravidian politics has now lost its possibly last standing icon, since Karunanidhi was the only one who was willing to amass support for the Dravidian Movement through his immortal dialogues.
