Many treatments to cure those infected with novel coronavirus or COVID-19 are doing rounds on social media. Since the outbreak of coronavirus that has so far led to multiple deaths and infected more than 6 lakh globally, social media is full of bizarre treatments. Few latest “natural remedies” are listed below:
The Cow Urine Remedy:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) parliamentarian Pragya Thakur has said that drinking cow urine can help prevent COVID-19, adding that her remark had “scientific backing”.
The Cow Dung Therapy:
People in Gujarat have been visiting a cow shelter run by Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishwavidya Prathisthanam (SGVP) to take the ‘cow dung therapy’.
The Havan Ceremony:
Madhya Pradesh Culture Minister Usha Thakur on March 7 stressed that on the need for adopting the Vedic lifestyle, for protection against the coronavirus, and claimed that ‘havan’ of a cow dung cake can keep a house sanitized.
The Steam Remedy:
“Steam Inhalation Station and Mobile Steam Inhalation Vehicle inaugurated in Coimbatore today. Frontline workers of Coimbatore Corporation were the first beneficiaries,” she tweeted.

Corona Mata Worship Ceremony:
The women were worshipping ‘Corona Mata’ and a mass prayer was organized so that COVID-19 will spare their children and family members.
Corona Devi Temple:
Daily prayers are being held, seeking blessings to save the people from the deadly disease. This temple is situated on the outskirts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Bhaag Corona Bhaag:
After the “Go Corona Go” chants of Ramdas Athawale, some villagers in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar Malwa district resorted to chanting ‘Bhaag Corona Bhaag’ on Sunday night in a bid to fight the novel coronavirus.
While here are just some “home remedies”, all these have been proven scientifically a hoax and should not be followed at home. Take advice from your doctor only. With the third wave approaching, there are more “home remedies” to come across.
