We visited the insanely hyped International House Of Pancakes or IHOP as it is called, to see if it actually lived up to its reputation.
If you have been debating whether IHOP is worth travelling all the way to CyberCity, we are here to tell you that it absolutely is! Read on to find out why!
How To Reach:
Located in Cybercity in Gurugram, the most convenient and cheapest mode of conveyance is, of course, Metro.
Change to Rapid Metro line at Sikanderpur station on the yellow line and get off at Cyber City.
You can’t miss the place. It’s colourful and bright and looks like a giant Lego house.
The Ambience and Decor of The Place:
The place is as vibrant inside as it is outside. It’s bright, airy and tastefully decorated with flashes of block colours everywhere. For example look at this beautiful ‘Pancake Station’.
There’s ample seating space. But I wouldn’t recommend visiting on a weekend unless you don’t mind waiting for a while. Not until the hype dies down, anyway.
What We Ordered:
We started off our late brunch with something savoury first. We ordered the Chicken Florentine Crepes and the Chicken and Waffles.
And let me tell you, words aren’t enough to describe how absolutely delicious the dishes were. Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Used to the spicy Indian food as we all are, I am always slightly worried that the food will be bland whenever I eat at an authentic American Café, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was perfect.
The mustard sauce they serve with the Chicken and Waffles did not overpower my palate as it usually happens with the store bought brands. It was perfect like everything else.
Every table has an array of syrups you can eat your waffles/pancakes with. And that was the best part of the whole experience for me.
As you can see from the picture above, they give you the original and classic “Old Fashioned” Maple Syrup, a Blueberry Syrup, a Butter Pecan Syrup, and a “Hot Old Fashioned”.

One thing you should keep in mind when eating here is to make sure you’re starving. They serve large portions and we almost couldn’t finish the Chicken Florentine Crepes and waited at least 10 minutes before ordering the main thing we travelled all the way to Gurugram for; Pancakes of course!
We ordered the Chocolate Choco-Chip Pancakes and they were fluffy and light and sweet and amazing. Even though our stomachs were full with all the crepes and waffles, the pancakes simply melted in our mouths.
It surely is an amazing feeling; to not feel you’re engaging in gluttony when you most definitely are.
This much I have to say, the food here is great value for money. Years of spending an extravagant amount at Delhi Cafés and still going home hungry has made me susceptible to not expect large portions of food. And IHOP thankfully takes those expectations and flings them across the room.
Prices:
The prices are what the same as what you expect from any other café in HKV and Khan Market. But the thing to be noted is that you get large portions. Ergo, great value for money spent.
