How Has Trump’s Family Wealth Boomed After Being Re-Elected As US President?

-

Donald Trump will be completing one year of being the US President, for the second time, on January 20, 2026. There are several questions that can be raised on such an occasion, including how a man like him won the presidency of one of the most advanced nations two times, or his many tantrums to get what he wants, however he wants it.

His recent actions regarding Venezuela, Greenland, involvement in the Epstein files, desire for a Nobel Peace Prize, interference in last year’s India-Pakistan crisis and more have raised a lot of question on what kind of a leader he really is.

However, in the midst of this, some reports have been made about the extraordinary surge in personal wealth that Donald J. Trump and his family have seen in the last year.

How Rich Did Donald Trump And His Family Get?

Donald Trump was sworn in for his second term as the 47th president of the United States on January 20, 2025.

Since then, multiple investigations and financial trackers have documented a dramatic increase in wealth tied directly or indirectly to his position, though estimates vary widely depending on methodology and what is counted.

On December 27, 2025, Bernie Sanders, the United States senator from Vermont, posted on his Instagram about how Trump saw an increase of 273% in wealth since becoming president.

He wrote, “Donald Trump’s wealth has nearly TRIPLED since he became president, driven largely by crypto ventures fueled by foreign governments. We need a president who works to improve life for the millions who can’t afford food, housing or health care, not one who enriches himself.”

There were a lot of comments showing outrage at this, with one user writing, “Make it ILLEGAL for felons to hold office!!!!” and another saying, “It is the only reason he ran for president.”

Various reports over the last year have mentioned how Trump and his family have seen an increase in wealth since his re-election.

Some mentioned that, along with his luxury real estate, golf courses, and brand licensing, ventures including technology, cryptocurrency, and global business have only extended his financial profile, thus bringing in more profits.

One of the most concrete tallies comes from the Centre for American Progress’s “Trump’s Take” tracker, which measures cash and gifts the family has received as a result of presidential influence and connected ventures since the 2024 election.

As of late 2025, this real-time calculation shows that Trump and his immediate family have taken in more than $1.8 billion through crypto sales, trading fees, stablecoin interest, legal settlements, media deals, and gifts that are tied to his office.

According to a Forbes report, Trump’s real estate portfolio is valued at approximately $2.5 billion.

Further, by late 2025, Forbes and Bloomberg reports placed Trump’s own net worth between roughly $6.7 billion and $7.7 billion, up significantly from earlier years and partly due to stock and crypto ventures.

David Uberti, reporting for The Wall Street Journal, commented on this, saying, “You have all of these different business interests in different areas in which the government regulates,” and this “proximity to power may help along some of these deals and the valuations at which they’re made.”

As quoted by Democracy Now, Uberti also commented on the World Liberty Financial, a crypto venture by Trump. He said, “World Liberty Financial was co-founded by Trump and his sons, as well as Steve Witkoff and his sons. It is owned, basically 40%, by entities linked to the Trump family. And through a complex ownership structure, various entities lead that investment back up into the Trump Revocable Trust.

Now, World Liberty Financial issues its own governance tokens, as well as stable tokens — stablecoins, rather, which are backed by U.S. Treasury bonds. And through both of those different offerings, they can get both trading fees as well as interest payments by their Treasury holdings, as well.

As some of my colleagues reported, different investors in cryptocurrency around the world have either put money into the stablecoin offerings — those span Middle East and Asian investors.”

Uber also talked about Trump’s venture into AI, stating, “Trump Media, which was originally founded, as you know, as sort of a holding company for the Truth Social social media platform, has really sort of traveled through the wilderness in terms of finding an actual business to become over the last several years or so.

They were founded in 2021, when Donald Trump was very much in the outs with corporate America and Wall Street. And this business deal with TAE Technologies, which is quite an established player in the nascent nuclear fusion field, it kind of represents full circle happening for that Trump family business empire. This is an established firm. It’s backed by Goldman Sachs and Chevron, coincidentally.

The Charles Schwab family is involved. These are very mainstream financial people in the United States. So you really see the Trumps increasingly integrating their business empire within, you know, the, quote-unquote, “real economy” in the U.S., as well as mainstream finance.”
