The entire country is buzzing today with it finally being Lok Sabha election results day. The elections that started on 19th April and went on till 1st June in seven phases electing people for 543 constituencies are ready to announce the results today.
As of now, exit polls are showing a clear mandate for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with the Indian National Congress (INC) in second place. The election results are no small thing though with the entire country talking about who will win, social media getting overloaded and even the stock market crashing.
Reports state that the Sensex went down over 4,000 points while NSE Nifty50 ended the day under 22,000 points seeing its biggest single-fall day in the last four years.
State Bank of India (SBI) investors have also been said to have faced a loss of almost Rs. 1 lakh crore as the index tracking public sector undertaking (PSU) bank showed a decline of 13%.
Major companies like ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, TCS, HCL, Infosys, Wipro, Kotak Mahindra, Engineers India, HDFC, Praj Industries, Ashok Leyland, Finolex, Bharat Electronics, Larsen & Toubro, ONGC, and Ircon International are among others that also saw a decline in their shares.

Some also chose to poke fun at BJP’s ‘400 Paar’ claim where the party had claimed that this election they would win “400 paar” (winning 400 out of the 543 Lok Sabha seats), however, current exit polls show the number being a little less than that even when the party is in the lead.
