Nissan under its brand name Datsun launched its small car Go to whoop the hatch buyers in India and to intensify the already tough fight going on in A-segment among Maruti Suzuki’s Alto and WagonR, Hyundai’s Eon and i10, Chevrolet’s Beat and Spark and Honda Brio with a very aggressive price tag.

Go will have a 1198cc, 3 cylinder petrol engine dissipating a maximum power of 67.07bhp @ 5000rpm and torque of 104Nm @ 4000rpm. It will be available in four versions (D, D1, A and T) and the top variant, T will include premium features like power steering, front power windows, factory fitted music system with speakers, a mobile docking station, central locking and engine immobilizer. Go comes up with a basic yet trendy interior in a stylish combination of beige and black. The car has three spoke steering wheel, large speedometer, gear shift guide and a fuel computer. With the wheelbase of 2450 mm, the GO is 3785mm long and 1635mm wide. The car also has a good ground clearance of 170mm.

This car also performs well on another important aspect for this segment which is mileage. Go will return you with an impressive mileage of 20.63kmpl (ARAI tested). As far as pricing is concerned, Go starts from 3.12 lakhs and goes till 3.70 lakhs(ex-showroom Delhi), which is lesser than several other cars of the same segment.

Our take: Nissan has launched its car with proper homework in India and this car seems to have a lot of potential to do well in Indian market. It is already getting good response and critic ratings. Rest the time will tell!
