Although Phillip Lewitski has been performing ever since he was a kid, currently he stars in the Hulu original series “Utopia Falls”. The series takes the viewers into a distant future colony in which the truth is hidden under the shadows of facades. A group of teens discover an ancient archive containing historical, cultural, and musical relics, which makes them question everything they have accepted as the truth. It is now up to them to use the power of music to break the façade of lies to expose the truth that lies under it. Phillip plays the character Apollo, who works as a mechanic and uses the drums to showcase his musical talents in the show.
As alluring and exciting this series is, he has appeared in over 10 film and television projects such as Wildhood, A Gentleman, In Real Life and The Search, and he is only 23 years old. Having grown up in a musical household, Phillip is a proficient musician. He can play the piano, violin and the drums, the latter he uses to connect with his Mohawk ancestry. Canadian by birth, Phillip comes from a French, Ukrainian, and Mohawk ancestry. His heritage forms a huge part of his identity and he is very interested in exploring further his cultural roots.
It was due to his home-schooling and the musical household that he had an interest in theatre and drama studies as extracurriculars. He had had just the right experiences to grow his acting and music skills. Performing as a kid, he was able to get a foothold in the industry that served as a gateway for him to showcase his talents in Vancouver and Los Angeles. Phillip was awarded the provincial Drama Award at St. Helena Theatre and was enrolled in Bishop Carroll Performing and Visual Arts program.
A deeply thoughtful artist, even in his spare time, Phillip immerses himself in other art forms such as charcoal painting and spends his leisure time travelling to discover himself and to learn more about the world, he lives in. That’s one reason why when you see him on the screen, he seems fully immersed in the character he is playing.
Phillip has a very unique take on life as an artist. He welcomes life’s challenges because they open him up to experiences that he otherwise wouldn’t encounter. This blend of experiences and the emotions they rouse in him, make him a better actor by aiding him to understand the psyche of the characters he plays.
Phillip Lewitski is engaged in mental health advocacy and dedicates a portion of his time working with and helping youth struggling from abusive homes, domestic violence, and drugs. When he was 19, Phillip wrote a book titled “Inside My Head” in which he documented his experiences and desire to grow up to have a positive impact on the lives of struggling teens as they go through trials and tribulations.
