Running from responsibilities is like running from yourself. Sven Baserbaschi, an entrepreneur from Berlin, Germany changed his life when he took up responsibilities. The only child to a single mother, his parents got divorced while he was 5 but his mother never let him realize the absence of his father. At the onset of his career in 1999, Sven joined the military service and was trained as a tank driver in the German Army. However, it did not work and the young man had no clue about what to do in life. In 2003, Sven had his plan to become a cook and he completed an apprenticeship in 2006 after which he tried to establish his ties in Dubai. With things not working out, he returned to Germany again.
In 2008, Sven got married to his wife Birgül after which the responsibilities increased on his shoulders. The following year, the entrepreneur made his venture into the cafe business by taking a small loan from his mother. Unfortunately, his business turned out to be dud and it went into major debt and losses. Following the footsteps of his friend, Sven took up the certificate of competence which entitled him to work in the security industry. After his internship in the security industry, he got an offer to work there as an employee or a subcontractor. With a leap of faith, on the occasion of Women’s Day in 2011, he started his own security company which was by far the best decision of his life.
“I worked for almost 300 hours a month and I enjoyed the process. It became an addiction and I started to love the work when money started flowing in. My first bill payment was 1700 euros which I earned by hard work”, he said. He further stated that he cleared off all the debts by the end of 2011 and started expanding his company thereafter. With the increase in sales, his biggest order was in 2014 for fire protection from a well-known mall in Berlin. Speaking about it, he said, “I can call it a life-changing moment as the contract alone was worth several million euros in annual sales. After the contract was accepted I felt a kind of sensation that I had never felt before.” Venturing into the security company, changed his fortunes and Sven earned immense respect from one and all.
Having all the materialistic things like swanky cars and a plush abode, the entrepreneur has made the impossible into possible. After years of hard work and success, in September 2019, the entrepreneur started a recording studio after his friend’s insistence. “The music has a very strong business in the German market and many people listen to different kinds of music in the country. It took 6 months for us to build a music label after which we locked in an artist for recording a song as well”, said Baserbaschi. In less than a year’s time, the first song of their label was out on July 24, 2020. Currently, the entrepreneur is exploring social media, particularly Instagram to reach out to more audiences.
Sven considers himself to be immensely blessed and he says that he is lucky to be financially independent. Besides all his work, he is also into real estate and has travelled across the globe for work. A big fan of Sylvester Stallone, the entrepreneur has lived his life by the quote of the actor. “The world is not all sunshine and rainbows. It is often a mean and ugly place. And I don’t care how strong you are. It will bring you to your knees and crush you if you let it happen. You and me, and nobody else, can hit as hard as life. But the point is not how hard a man can hit, it’s just how many punches he can take and whether he keeps going or not. How much you can take and still keep going. This is the only way to win.”
