Since the news of Coldplay, the popular British rock band, that will be having their concert in India has made to the news, fans have gone wild.
The group of four, namely Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion are going to perform in three shows in DY Patil Sports Stadium, Mumbai from 18th to 21st January 2025, as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Tickets for their shows were sold out in almost no time and Instagram reels are full of heartbroken people who did not make it to the tickets.
Amidst this wild chaos, a famous content creator has posted a video, criticizing BookMyShow’s faulty ticketing system as fans are experiencing unusually long queues while trying to buy concert tickets.
What Does The Video Say?
A woman named Simone Khambatta, took to Instagram to complain about the defective system of the online ticketing platform BookMyShow. The online vendor was the sole source offering tickets, extending the queues to tens of lakhs of people.
Tickets for two of the band’s concerts in Mumbai went live at noon on Sunday, the 22nd of September, and as soon as fans rushed to purchase them, they found millions of others ahead of them. While a third show was added later, tickets also went to third-party sites in no time.
“The strange part is that before the tickets even sold out on BookMyShow, Viagogo was selling them at 5x the price. My question is how did they manage to get thousands of tickets to sell at 5x the price,” said Simone.
She revealed waiting with her husband about 3 – minutes before the window even opened, with five devices logged in. However, she claimed that people who logged in after them were somehow ahead of them in the queue. “My friend logged in after me. And at 2pm she was at 4765 in the morning ‘queue’ and I was at 567432. How is this even fair? And how does that even work. This is a flawed system,” she said.
“@bookmyshowin HOW did you let @viagogo get away with this !!! Hoooooow. They are literally making A LOT MORE from ticket sales than you! Third party resellers is one thing, but like this !?!” she expressed, tagging BookMyShow in the caption.

Are Others Facing The Same Problem?
The video garnered more than four million views in just a day. Many others agreed with Simone and said that they were facing the exact same issue.
A tremendous havoc unravelled when the BookMyShow site crashed minutes after the tickets went live and the platform then cut down the cap of eight tickets per user to only four.
“It is a scam. What were you expecting? And don’t even get me started about Book My show.. They messed the MotoGP event too,” said one netizen.
“My daughter’s heart is broken on #daughtersday so is mine! We tried EVERYTHING!!!! This is a biding scam! Backstreet Boys and Bryan Adams shows weren’t like this!” said another comment.
“Seriously I am so disappointed. I was one of those people who saw the 21st jan post instantly and waited for my turn in que and by 2.00 pm it says 8,30,745 like wtf,” vented a third fan.
“Bookmyshow is the online version of Rajiv Chowk metro station, instead of going forward you go back in the queue like some only uncle cutting the line,” tweeted a fan.
“Another day another scam. The queue number didn’t change for a good 20mins but the seats got booked. Good one BookMyShow,” said one more.
