Breakfast Babble is ED’s own little space on the interwebs where we gather to discuss ideas and get pumped up (or not) for the day. We judge things too. Sometimes. Always. Whatever, call it catharsis and join in, people.
As 2024 winds down, I’ve realized it was less of a year and more of a lesson-laden chaotic rollercoaster where the tracks weren’t quite finished, and I was holding on for dear life. Each day brought a mix of ambition, overthinking, and the occasional existential crisis that only a steaming bowl of Maggi could solve.
I’ve realized it was less of a year and more of a long, chaotic group project where nobody knew what they were doing, including me. Each day felt like a strange combination of hope, dread, and that perpetual feeling of “I should be doing more.” Spoiler: I didn’t do more.
Procrastination became my closest companion. There’s nothing like telling yourself that tomorrow is the day you’ll start studying seriously, only to find yourself watching YouTube tutorials on making the perfect dalgona coffee—again. Time moved fast, yet I stayed firmly stuck in my time-wasting comfort zone.
Being unemployed was an adventure in its own right. It turns out, nothing brings out unsolicited advice like telling people you’re preparing for further studies. From “Why don’t you join a startup?” to “Have you considered teaching?”—everyone became an expert in careers I didn’t ask for.

I also became a professional in saying “we’ll see.” Every plan became a Schrödinger’s cat situation, existing in a limbo of “maybe” until I conveniently disappeared from group chats. Introversion was my shield, and ghosting was the art form I perfected without guilt.
If there’s one thing 2024 taught me, it’s that life thrives on chaos and satire. It has no script, and honestly, I didn’t need one. Whether I was panicking over exams, laughing at my own misadventures, or indulging in a much-needed afternoon nap, I learned that it’s okay to be messy, as long as you’re still standing by the end of it. Here’s to 2025, where I aim for fewer crises and more Maggi moments.
