Were Avengers inspired from Mahabharata? You Might Think So Too After Seeing This

$9 Billion
That’s how much the entire series of the 12 Avenger movies have grossed from the worldwide Box Office (In chronological order: Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel’s The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man) . That’s nearly 3 times as much as Avatar made – the Highest grossing movie in the history of cinema. That number also means that the Avengers have collectively made it to the Bollywood’s most coveted 100-crore-club 540 times, or each movie has been there 45 times over. More than, actually.

So obviously, you tend to feel small when you realize you have missed out on an entire Universe. With this guilt heavy in my heart, I watched Age of Ultron.

However, something struck me while watching this movie. It seems as if Stan Lee’s story was somewhere comparing to one of India’s greatest myths: The Mahabharata. The characters and roles bear remarkable significance and similarity….

1. Captain America and Yudhishtira
Both characters are defined by their honest, disciplined, self-righteousness. Both are the senior most characters in their teams. But then again, not so pure, eh? Yudhishtira gambled his kingdom away, and Captain swears!

2. Hulk and Bhima
The similarity is obvious: the Incredible strength. Also, Bhima slayed a hundred Kaurava brothers singlehandedly; and for Loki’s Army, the Avengers had a Hulk!

3. Iron Man and Karna
Senior to the others in so many ways. He is self-made, and was born to wear the metal suit! In Age of Ultron, Iron Man even raises some trouble and unknowingly contributes to the evil – just as Karna was on the bad side by bondage.

4. Hawkeye and Arjuna
Both are focused perfectionists, and lethal with bows.

Hawkeye

5. Black Widow and Draupadi
The only girl in the gang. “Always picking up after the boys…”

6. Thor and Lord Krishna
Well, simply because… immortal Gods of the stories. Also, Hemsworth is as much in demand as the Lord himself, at least nearly :P

7.  The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and Nakul and Sahadeva
The little twins. Both pairs in background for much time, and both initially in the other team – Witch and Quicksilver were with Ultron, while Nakul and Sehdev were born to a mother different from the older three brothers.

8. Nick Fury and Dronacharya
The Godfather, the Mentor. Dronacharya may have stood by the Kauravas during war, but his commitment – like Fury – was to protect the realm. Both were explicitly trained in combat.

9. Loki and Duryodhan
Each is projected as a Villain, but none of the characters are demons in the true sense. Each is right in his own way. Moreover, they both share blood with one in the good side.

10. Chitauri and the Kauravas
The pawns of the battlefield – too large to be cared about. Known by a collective name, and defeated by the single strong opponent. *tongue click*

  1. LOl,Cap America with Yudhisthira?seriously It will b an insult of Yudhisthere if we compare him with cap. Nothing similar between them except the leadership quality(if cap really posses that quality).Well hulk and Bheem are same to some content.but karn with iron man?this is enough. karn was a great warrior and a real follower of dharma .He is great in many sense and a true legend . And yeah he is not like any show off like iron man. HE is a true hero who sacrifised his whole life for his mother his friend duriyodhan and at last for dharma. He is a MAHARATHI whom you cannot compare to a childish stupid oversmart guy like iron man.Well though hawk eye and Arjuna are same mostly but hawk does not have those universal deadly wepons like Arjun have. More over Arjun is a demi-god.hawk is just a human.
WELL IF ALSO ONE CAN CONSIDER THIS ALL I WONT IT BE JUST LET IT GO IF YOU COMPARE LORD SRI KRISHNA WITH THOR. YOU CANNOT COMPARE THE ENTIRE COSMOS AND REALITY TO SOME ASGARDIAN SHORT TEMPERD HERO WHO IS ALWAYS LIKE -“FEED ME MORE”.AND ONE MORE THING THOR MIGHT BE IMMORTAL BUT SRI KRISHNA IS A HUMAN BIRTH OF GOD WHO IS TO UPHOLD DHARMA AND SHOW PEOPLE TRUE PATH.BESIDES MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WORSHIP LORD SRI KRISNA IN HEART .I DON’T KNOW IF ANYBODY WORSHIP THOR.
AND THIS WHOLE POST IS LIKE “THE END OF DISAGREEMENT”.PLEASE STOP POSTING SUCH NON SENSE. MAHABHARATA IS REAL IN MANY SENSE AND YOU SHOULD NOT COMPARE IT TO SOME FICITIOUS MARVEL CHARACTERS.
(NO MEAN TO HURT ANY OTHER READER OR TO THESE MARVEL CHARACTERS, OR TO THE WRITER, BUT SERIOUSLY ,HOW CAN YOU EVEN THINK OF COMPARING THE ENTIRE REALITY AND COSMOS TO SOME FICITIOUS CHARACTERS) Don’ mind if any spelling mistake.

  2. Other marvel character and Mahabharata gods and warriors comparisons i don’t know if they are inspired from Mahabharata war but Thor and loki is inspired from fully Greek mythology or Greek gods history like Mahabharata is our Indian history marvel had stated by themselves only and for information DC comics also have their Thor and Loki characters and they also stated by themselves that both of their characters are inspired from fully Greek mythology or Greek gods but in DC both characters got flopped but marvel get super hit in it

  3. your right but one change characters may be has some similarities but that idea of the story is came of Mahabharata, Lord krishna want to kill people in the name of war for neutralise the world and thanos also want to kill half of the population to neutralise the universe
