Will Floersheimer Blends Finance and Philanthropy

Will Floersheimer is an up and coming financier with vast experience and talent. Through his philanthropic work that began in high school and continues to this day, Will brings compassion and charity back to the finance community. He is undoubtedly a professional under 30 that the finance community will be hearing more from in the coming decades.

Will Floersheimer was born in New York City, but spent most of his childhood in the idyllic community of Greenwich, Connecticut. As the middle child of three, Will understood the concepts of sharing and compassion for others early on. Will Floersheimer is the grandchild of the late and highly respected Stephen Floersheimer. Stephen was the Founder of the Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy. Though Will Floersheimer had a normal childhood, Will’s passion for helping others was anything but average. From a young age, Will Floersheimer learned the importance of supporting those less fortunate than himself.

He attended Brunswick School, a prestigious boys’ school in the Greenwich area. While there, Will Floersheimer helped to create a 501c3 charity called The Blue Blazer Fund. This group sold used, high end blazers in order to raise money for impoverished children in Israel. By the end of Will’s time at the Brunswick School, the Blue Blazer Fund had raised over $200,000 for the children and even visited Israel to gain real-life perspective on how their charity could better help the Israeli community. 

Though his philanthropic work is certainly impressive, Will Floersheimer did not spend all of his time in high school volunteering and supporting charity. Like many young boys, Will enjoyed sports and excelled at many, particularly lacrosse, soccer, and paddle tennis. As a result, when he wasn’t focused on his charity work or his studies, Will could be found using his natural athleticism to train his mind and body and support his team members on the field. Academically, Will excelled at languages, working to become fluent in both Spanish and Italian by the time he graduated. 

It isn’t surprising that Will Floersheimer graduated from his prestigious high school with honors, and chose to attend the incomparable Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. During his time at university, Will found a second home in his fraternity. It was here that he used his predisposition for charity work to support his community and earn himself several leadership roles within his brotherhood.

For fun, Will Floersheimer could be found playing lacrosse for USC and bonding with his fraternity brothers. However, when other college students were spending summers relaxing or partying, Will committed himself to prestigious financial internships, including spots at Van Eck Global, GoldenTree Asset Management, and JP Morgan. Will Floersheimer became dedicated to learning more about finance during these internships, utilizing his summers to become more proficient in his craft and better ready himself for the job market after graduation. 

With his extensive experience, Will quickly earned a relevant position in the field after graduating from USC. While working as an associate at JP Morgan, Will supported a portfolio of over $70 billion dollars of financial management, a truly impressive feat. Though he was new to the company, Will Floersheimer quickly rose in the opinion of his superiors and was soon giving valuable input. Will was able to give accurate, comprehensive advice to his clients on market conditions, aiding them in creating new assets and maximizing their investments. During his time at JP Morgan, Will Floersheimer was highly respected by colleagues and clients alike, and made quite a name for himself in the finance industry. 

Throughout his career, Will’s heart has remained focused on philanthropy. Today, he spends his time volunteering at The Lord’s Place, an institution that assists the homeless population in Southern Florida. Will began volunteering at The Lord’s Place thrift store locations, and gradually became more and more involved with the institution as he learned the ropes and grew more passionate about the company’s mission. He now helps to train other clients and volunteers to learn the retail merchandise side of the store, and prepare them for independent work in the retail world.

The skills Will Floersheimer imparts on his contacts at The Lord’s Place are fundamental, and they have the opportunity to make an enormous difference in the lives of many. Through his time with The Lord’s Place, Will has begun to help the foundation raise money, returning the roots set in place by the Blue Blazer Fund. As he organizes raffles, fundraisers, and other fund-generating events, Will uses his incredible experience in finance to serve those less fortunate than himself. Because of and Will’s efforts and other volunteers, The Lord’s Place was able to raise over 11 million dollars in 2019.

Future Endeavors

As Will Floersheimer continues to gain experience in both the finance and philanthropic worlds, he has learned to embrace both of these critical skills to help others. His understanding of these fields gives him the ability and inspiration to show people how to create and manage their own wealth. His services and expertise will only continue to grow, as he shows no sign of slowing his drive to serve. Will’s experience at JP Morgan has helped The Lord’s Place become a viable, self-reliant organization with strong investments, and he will undoubtedly provide this service for many more reputable businesses and nonprofits far into the future.
