Which Are The 38 Parties In The BJP-Led NDA For The 2024 Elections

BJP-Led NDA

On 18th July 2023, a meeting of the existing and new National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies took place in Delhi. Leaders from almost 38 parties attended the meeting where Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that “NDA’s vote share will be above 50 per cent because of its allies who are working hard.”

The BJP-led NDA meeting was close on the heels of almost 26 leaders from opposition parties collecting in Bangalore. BJP President JP Nadda as per reports also stated that “38 parties have confirmed their participation in the NDA meeting.

In the last nine years, the reach and scope of the NDA has increased; in the pursuit of our developmental agenda in the Indian polity, the NDA has become popular among the voters as well as parties.”

Here are the 38 parties that have given their confirmation for participation into the NDA coalition. Going by states these include:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an Election Commission of India recognised National party.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Jana Sena Party (JSP)

JSP is not recognised by the Election Commission of India yet.

Arunachal Pradesh

National People’s Party (NPP)

NPP is a regional party of the combination of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland states.

Assam

  • Asom Gana Parishad (AGP)
  • United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL)

Both of AGP and UPPL are Election Commission of India recognised parties.

Bihar

  • Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (Pashupati Kumar Paras-led)
  • Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas Paswan)
  • Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM)

Of the three parties from the state, HAM is not recognised by the Election Commission of India yet.

Goa

Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP)

MGP is an Election Commission of India recognised party.

Haryana

  • Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)
  • Haryana Lokhit Party

Of the Haryana parties, only JJP is an Election Commission of India recognised party.

Jharkhand

All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU)

AJSU is an Election Commission of India recognised party.

Kerala

  • Kerala Kamaraj Congress
  • Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS)

Both the parties from the state are not recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Maharashtra

  • Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction)
  • Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction)
  • Republican Party of India (Athawale)
  • Prahar Janshakti Party (PJP)
  • Jan Surajya Shakti Party (JSS)
  • Rashtriya Samaj Paksha (RSPS)

Of all the parties from the state, only Shiv Sena is an Election Commission of India recognised party.

Manipur

  • National People’s Party (NPP)
  • Naga People’s Front (NPF)
  • Kuki People’s Alliance (KPA)

NPP and NPF are regional parties of the combination of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland and Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh respectively.

All are recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Meghalaya

  • National People’s Party (NPP)
  • Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP)
  • United Democratic Party (Meghalaya)

NPP is a regional party of the combination of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, and Nagaland states.

All are recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Mizoram

Mizo National Front (MNF) is an Election Commission of India recognised party.

Nagaland

  • Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)
  • National People’s Party (NPP)
  • Naga People’s Front (NPF)

NPP and NPF are regional parties of the combination of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland and Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh respectively.

All are recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Punjab

Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) is recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Puducherry

  • All India NR Congress (AINRC)* STATE: Puducherry
  • Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK)
  • Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC)

TMC and PMK are joint regional parties for Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. AINRC is recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Sikkim

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Tamil Nadu

  • All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)
  • Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK)
  • Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC)
  • Puthiya Tamilagam (PT)

AIADMK, TMC and PMK are joint regional parties for Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. Of all the parties, only AIADMK is recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Tripura

Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) is recognised by the Election Commission of India.

Uttar Pradesh

  • Apna Dal (Soneylal)*
  • Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP)
  • Nishad Party

Of the three from the state, only Apna Dal (Soneylal) is recognised by the Election Commission of India.

West Bengal

Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF)

GNLF is not recognised by the Election Commission of India yet.

Apparently, both sides are now getting in high gear for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, not all the parties have members in the Lok Sabha, and thus can affect the overall power and reach.
