Watch: India’s Top Five Most Dangerous Roads

Roads are everybody’s best friends, right? Anywhere and everywhere you have to go, roads help us in commuting. Be it going to get groceries or on a road trip, roads have to be used every single time we get out of our houses.

Thus, roads become an essential part of a country’s infrastructure. As light as a cycle to as heavy as a truck, almost every vehicle needs a road for its journey. Hence, it is very important that our roads are built correctly and are comfortable to travel upon.

Recently, when Cyrus Mistry, the former chairman of Tata Sons died in an accident, it brought the road structure of India to the limelight. Though it was Mistry’s fault for not wearing a seatbelt and the driver’s fault for driving extremely fast, the road he was travelling on was also at fault.

The Surya Bridge, where Cyrus Mistry’s accident took place, is known as a death trap and numerous accidents have taken place on the 52km long road.

Thus, as much as we reiterate that people in cars must wear seatbelts, have airbags in their cars, and drive with full consciousness, we must also focus on road engineering so that they do not contribute to a person’s death.

In the video below, we have discussed the five most dangerous roads in India. Let’s have a look.

It is essential that we take efforts in building strong roads, detect the faults in them, and make them safe by adding railings or edges so that one who travels remains safe.
