Mumbai Police Mock People’s Excuses For Not Staying Indoors With Hilarious Post

Mumbai Police celebrates World Laughter Day with an important message to the public.

In celebration of World Laughter Day, the Mumbai Police Department shared a humorous post on the many excuses the police officers hear every day when they question people on why they are outside their homes.

World Laughter Day is celebrated every year on 2nd May and is an occasion meant to acknowledge the importance and benefits of joy and laughter in our lives.

This particular day came into being when Dr. Madan Kataria, from Mumbai, started the Laughter Yoga Movement, intending to spread the message that our facial expressions can affect how we feel.

As devastating news of the ongoing deadly second wave dominates our media channels and social media, this post by the Mumbai Police took a light-hearted approach to the situation. It was meant to spread joy while also conveying an important message about staying at home to the public.

It is no surprise that while we move towards containing the spread of the virus, there are still many people who appear oblivious to the social distancing norms and safety rules. The rationale behind why they step out of their homes is often bizarre and ridiculous.

The caption of the hilarious post also poked fun at the unbelievable excuses people come up with by stating, “Disclaimer. All the characters and events depicted are real. Any resemblance to a person living or dead is purely intentional.”, along with the hashtags #ExcuseNotOKPlease #HeardOnDuty and #WorldLaughterDay.

The post quickly went viral, with many social media users making fun of the justifications that these officers, unfortunately, need to hear every day. Some also praised the Mumbai Police for being so clever with the concept of the post.

From cricket matches and band aid emergencies to eating paan, the police officers have heard it all! Here are the hilarious excuses from their post:

The Mumbai police have always been known for their witty and humorous posts with underlined advisory messages for the public. The sarcasm and humour in their social media posts allow them to connect better with the public, hoping that these humorous posts will strike a chord with them.

On a more genuine note, however, it has never been more crucial for people to take more responsibility for their actions and remain indoors than it is right now. The important lesson here is to focus on being a good member of society and playing your part in containing the spread of the virus.
