Maa Ka Ladla Is No Longer Bigda Hua: This And Other Jokes That Are Dead With Section 377 Abolished

As India moves forward as a nation, we take a look at some of the jokes that were made on the gay community

As the 5-judge bench of the Supreme Court of India passed the historic judgement that legalized homosexuality with a part of section 377 abolished, India moved forward as a nation.

What is left behind isn’t just a narrow mentality, but a ton of jokes that were made on the LGBTQ community in general.

The LGBTQ community has been through tough times in India. Wherever they go, they not just bat eyelids but are even made a butt of jokes.

With so much of unnecessary flak received from the larger part of the population, most chose to live their lives without revealing their true sexual identity. ‘Coming out of the closet’ or disclosure of one’s sexual orientation was seen as a brave step.

The biggest film industry of India, Bollywood, hasn’t helped to the cause either. In fact, it has always stereotyped the gay community. From Dostana to Bol Bachhan, we have seen how gay characters are stereotyped to become a laughing stock.

With section 377 abolished, here are some jokes that will also be dead along with it –
