Arnab Goswami’s arrest yesterday was one of the biggest news even today itself, more than 24 hours after it happened.
News channels, social media and more are still filled with conversation around his arrest, how it happened and whether it was right or wrong.
For those who are still unaware, Arnab Goswami was arrested, or detained, by the Mumbai Police yesterday morning in relation to a suicide case that happened in 2018.
The victim, Anvay Naik, committed suicide along with his mother two years ago due to financial troubles. In a suicide note later found, he had specifically named Goswami and two others who had big amounts due to be paid for services his company had provided.
This case was revived by his daughter in May this year and now, to do further investigations, the Mumbai Police picked up Arnab from his residence yesterday.
How Did The Internet React?
Arnab Goswami’s detainment instantly resulted in many politicians and big names coming forward and supporting him along with condemning the way he was arrested.
The internet was divided between those who supported Arnab and those who were happy to see him arrested. There were also those who made some interesting observations around the whole situation.
