In Pics: Spring Comes To Bengaluru Turning It Pink, #PinkBangalore Trends

There is certainly something about nature that automatically turns anyone into a photographer, wanting to capture the beauty they see.

Whether it be mountains, rivers, ponds, animals, trees and of course the never disappointing flowers, we all are ready to get out our smartphones and open up our 50MP or some other fancy termed camera and get into typical photographer poses to shoot to our heart’s content.

Something similar happened in Bengaluru when spring hit the city and led to beautiful pink flowers blooming all across it.

Many people compared it to Japan or their Cherry Blossom festival, stating that now we have our own such festival in India itself.

What Made Bengaluru Turn Pink?

The reason behind the pink blossoms are actually Tabebuia Rosea flowers that are said to naturally grow in the city.

They initially came over from continental America sometime in the last decade but have taken to the city quickly, blooming each year right around this time.

These flowers that are shaped like the trumpet are extremely fast-growing flora and are sai grow around 25 to 30 metres tall.

These flowers are often seen blooming across trees on the roadside and even in gardens, and when their petals fall on the ground create a pretty pink carpet.

These are just some of the images that people posted on their social media that I felt we should certainly be seeing in their full glory since not everyone can just up and travel to Bengaluru to see it in person right now.
