How Lauren Dascalo Turned Her Passion into her Moneymaker

Startup Fortune, July 11, 2020: Lauren Dascalo puts in work. While this is obvious when you look at her – toned physique and all, a brief conversation with her show that she’s putting in time outside of the gym and kitchen too. She’s working on her business and brand just as much as she’s working on herself. It’s a delicate balance to hit, but the 22-year-old fitness mogul has managed to hone her passion and turn it into a successful business.

Who are you, what have you done, and what are you doing?

My main focus is fitness and fashion. I use social media to push these focuses and I work with different brands that I believe in. While I’m doing that, I’m also expanding my work to move past modeling and get into the world of online lifestyle coaching, and my own fitness apparel and loungewear brand, a supplement company, and a skincare brand.

What businesses have you been a part of, and how did they help you get to where you are now?

Being a part of Team 10, a group of fellow social media influencers who work together to generate ideas, get creative, and produce content, has definitely been one of the highlights of my career and it’s what gave me the motivation to keep creating. I’ve continued to work with other influencers and brands like Bang Energy, Revolve, Pretty Little Thing, and Fashionova.

When did you know you found the right niche for you, and how did you capitalize on it?

I found my niche before I even thought of starting a business around it. I’ve always been interested in fashion, fitness, and motivation. It was part of my lifestyle. The content I put on social media isn’t made up. I’d be doing it even if I wasn’t posting it. I think people are attracted to that authenticity. When I realized that a lot of people are looking for the same answers I’d been searching for, I decided that it would be better for us to go on this journey together.

What would you say are the biggest challenges when starting a business as an entrepreneur?

Your brand has to always be fresh, creative, innovative, and interesting. You also need to build your vision, make important decisions, and ensure that you have a strong, loyal team walking this road with you.
