Haryana’s Desperate Bachelors Get Caught With Real Life “Looteri Dulhans”

Looteri Dulhans are the new fad of Haryana. The skewed sex ratio of Haryana has made the bachelors of the state desperate enough to now purchase wives from other states to complete their families. Girls from Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, and other such states are being sold for as low as Rs. 10,000.

Nevertheless, the story does not end there. It is becoming a common trend for the new brides to act as coy and dutiful daughter-in-law and earn the trust of her new family, only to lace their drinks with sedatives and run away with the family jewels and cash.

Looteri Dulhans

The girls change their identities so that they cannot be traced back to their hometowns. They are colloquially known as Looteri Dulhans and have become the state’s most infamous fear. While some girls operate in gangs, posing with other imposters as a normal family, others go solo.

Ved Singh and His Family

Pilu Khera, a village in Haryana, recently witnessed a case of Looteri Dulhans through Ved Singh’s family. However, before his daughter-in-law Geeta, originally Meena, could escape with the family inheritance, was arrested by the police.

The woman who was posing as Geeta’s mother was actually her mother-in-law and it is probable that the marriage broker was in on the scam too.

Needless to say, the Singh family is very embarrassed by this misfortune.

Political promises

Politicians often promise brides to bachelors in advanced ages to secure votes while campaigning. OP Dhankar had promised brides from Bihar in his 2014 campaign while Manohar Lal Khattar sparked controversy in 2019 by promising brides from Kashmir.

Some people believe that the case of Looteri Dulhans is nothing but their karma of practicing female infanticide. What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below.
