Breakfast Babble is ED’s own little space on the interwebs where we gather to discuss ideas and get pumped up (or not) for the day. We judge things too. Sometimes. Always. Whatever, call it catharsis and join in people.
As I embarked on the rollercoaster ride that is pursuing a master’s degree, little did I know that the universe had a delightful surprise in store for me – sharing a living space with some amazing, spirited women. What initially began as a housing arrangement quickly evolved into the most heartwarming and humorous chapter of my life, sprinkled with laughter, camaraderie, and a dash of that special female touch.
First and foremost, let’s address the misconception that living with girls involves tiptoeing around a minefield of drama. In reality, my days have been an uproarious blend of jokes, laughter, and an occasional dance-off in the living room. These remarkable women have an uncanny ability to turn the mundane into moments of pure joy, transforming our shared space into a sanctuary of mirth and camaraderie.
One of the unexpected perks of cohabiting with this spirited bunch is the constant source of entertainment. From impromptu karaoke sessions to DIY beauty experiments gone hilariously wrong, every day is an adventure. Who knew that mastering the art of contouring could lead to such uproarious laughter? Living with these girls has been like having a front-row seat to a daily comedy show, with me playing the grateful audience member.

Beyond the laughter, these wonderful roommates have become my pillars of support during the academic grind. Their culinary skills have not only nourished my body but also warmed my heart, creating a bond that transcends the mundane act of sharing a meal.
But it’s not just about the food; it’s the genuine care and concern that make living with these girls an unparalleled experience. When the weight of deadlines threatened to crush my spirit, they were there with words of encouragement, a shoulder to lean on, and an endless supply of chocolate. Their empathy has transformed our shared space into a haven where we navigate the challenges of academia together, emerging stronger as a collective.
As I reflect on this transformative journey, I can’t help but marvel at the serendipity that led me to these incredible souls. Living with girls during my master’s has been more than a living arrangement; it’s been an emotionally enriching and uproariously funny adventure. From the joyous laughter echoing through our halls to the warm meals that fill our communal kitchen, this experience has left an indelible mark on my heart. Here’s to the incredible women who have made my master’s journey not just academically fulfilling but emotionally radiant – thank you for turning a shared living space into a home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
