Watch: Myths About PMS That Need To Be Debunked

‘Why are you getting so mad, is it that time of the month already?’

This is a question that has been haunting me for ages now. Why does everything that I do out of anger or irritation has to be linked to my menstruation cycle?

Can’t I be expressive in my opinions and thoughts without being asked whether “is it that time of the month’’?

No, sir. Thank you for your concern, but I’m absolutely fine, I just happen to be a strong woman making a valid point, which according to you, is clearly an improbable thought.

There are a myriad of such myths associated with premenstrual syndrome or PMS in general. People think that around this time, girls become moody, highly irritable and unnecessarily reactive to trivial things. Even a lot of TV sitcoms use the symptoms of PMS as a punch-line for their audience.
