Intersex people are born with variations in chromosomes, gonads, and genitals. These variations may vary.
However, intersex athletes usually appear to be female and possess internal testes.
This perhaps leads to them being biologically closer to men thereby leading to a greater amount of testosterone in their bodies.
It is often believed that it is unfair, if intersex women compete with non-intersex women. This gives rise to an ambiguity around them.
