Watch: 5 Countries That Celebrate Diwali Like India

Also known as the Festival of Lights, you will be surprised to know that Diwali is not just celebrated in India but it is celebrated all over the world. In fact, some countries are so grand in their endeavors that they celebrate the festival for 5 days straight!

Diwali is celebrated to commemorate the victory of good over evil. In South India it is celebrated because it was the day that Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura.

However, for North India, it is the return of Lord Ram along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman to Ayodhya after defeating the demon Ravan of Lanka.

Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman lived in exile for 14 years owing to a promise that had been broken by their father King Dasharath.
