Unknown Places To Visit In Jaipur: UNESCO’s Latest World Heritage Site In India

Your trip to Jaipur is incomplete without visiting these fabulous destinations...

The first image that comes to mind when we think of Jaipur is that of exquisite palaces and forts. But there are places equally if not more bewitching in the city that mustn’t be missed.

As UNESCO declared Jaipur a world heritage site, we enlist some of the hidden gems other than palaces and forts in the Pink City.

Padao Open Air Restaurant:

This famed restaurant is situated inside the periphery of Nahargarh Fort. While the fort itself is a popular tourist destination, the Padao restaurant is its primary charm.

Padao is an open-air restaurant located at the top of the fort with an entry fee of mere Rs. 50. The restaurant serves savoury non-veg and veg cuisines as well as offers a stunning bird’s-eye view of the entire city.

So next time you are in town, do make sure stop by Padao to enjoy the exotic view of Jaipur, replete with delightful food. (But if heights freak you out, we are not sure if this would be the nicest place for you!)

Chandlai Lake:

If you are an ardent admirer of wildlife and are looking for some moments of tranquillity away from the city’s hustle-bustle, this place is meant just for you.

The serene lake is located 30 km. from Jaipur and is a befitting place for nature-lovers. The massive lake is visited by around 10,000 species of migratory birds including Pied Avocet, White Wagtail, Black Winged Stilt among several others.

Enthusiastic photographers and nature and wildlife lovers, we got a haven to satiate you!

World Trade Park:

In a city renowned for its architectural marvels like kingly forts and palaces, The World Trade Park is the modern-day architectural wonder.

Located in Malviya Nagar, World Trade Park (popularly called ‘WTP Jaipur) is an international business centre and a high-end shopping mall. The worth of WTP Jaipur is a whopping Rs. 350 Crores and is one of the biggest shopping malls in the country.

From food to choicest shopping brands, to entertainment- you will find all under one roof, with a superb architecture to gaze at.

Jawahar Kala Kendra

Jawahar Kala Kendra (or ‘JKK’ as called by Jaipurites) is the cultural institution located in the heart of the Pink city. It was inaugurated in 1986 by the state government with the aim to preserve Rajasthani culture and heritage.

Besides intricate artwork on the ceiling and magnificent architecture, JKK hosts musical, theatre and dance performances, art and craft exhibitions, cinema shows and much more.

JKK has been attracting tourists worldwide ever since its opening. So what are you waiting for?

Rajmandir Cinema

If you mistook Rajmandir as being your everyday cinema hall, toh ho sakta hai tum galat ho.

Rajmandir cinema suffuses the delicate artistry of the traditional Rajasthani palaces with the modern-day cinemas. The meringue-shaped auditorium was designed by the famous architect Shri W.M. Namjoshi and was inaugurated in 1976 with the movie ‘Charas’.

The ceilings are bedecked with glistening chandeliers and give the perfect feel of enjoying Bollywood movies in a royal setting.

Next time you visit Jaipur, head straight to Rajmandir to have a super-savoury movie-watching experience.
