We Live In A Circus: Mulayam Singh Yadav’s 76th Birthday Celebrations Prove So

Last week witnessed the 76th birthday of Samajwadi party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav a-k-a MSY a-k-a Netaji.

Location

The birthday celebration kicked off on Saturday in his native village Saifai. Why is it still a village?

Nostalgic Cake

Unlike last year this year the cake was not 75 feet long. However, this time it was of 76 kgs (Because 76 candles is too middle class).

Even the cake is taller than him.

Guests

This year over one lakh invites were sent to people including Mukesh Ambani, Godrej and Hrithik Roshan.

It’s so kind of Mulayam Singh to help Hrithik get over Suzanne.

Singer A.R. Rahman was one of the big ticket Celebrities who performed at the function.

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan are also on the guest list which is not at all strange because Amitabh Bachchan is omnipresent. He’s everywhere. He is promoting Gujarat tourism, shooting in Bombay (sorry, Mumbai!), attending International Film festival in Goa and also on “Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi” TV show. Omnipresent.

Irony

Mulayam Singh Yadav’s birthday was attended by around 1 lakh people, more than the number of votes they secured in Lok Sabha elections 2014.

Akhilesh in his speech said, “The only gift we (SP) and our Netaji (Mulayam) are enjoying is the enormous support and love of the people of UP.”

If someone asks Akhilesh to spell out his father’s name he would probably enunciate N-E-T-A-J-I.

Happy Moments

Amar Singh, Bffs with Amitabh and Mulayam, also attended the cake cutting ceremony in Saifai on Saturday and ate a fistful (Netaji’s fist) of cake.

A day before the ceremony as many as 50 districts of the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh were declared drought hit by Akhilesh Yadav.

Lekin, Party toh banti hai!

ED wishes MSY a very happy heavy and expensive Birthday.
